Telehealth Treatment Consent

What telehealth is

Telehealth means your consultation happens by secure video call instead of in person. Your practitioner is a registered doctor or nurse practitioner working in Australia.

What telehealth can and cannot do

  • Your practitioner cannot physically examine you. They may ask you to see your GP or another health professional for an examination or tests.
  • If your practitioner decides telehealth is not suitable for your needs, they will tell you and explain other options.
  • Telehealth is not for emergencies. If you need urgent help, call 000.

Identity and who is present

  • Your practitioner will check your photo ID at the start of the consultation.
  • Please join from a private place. Tell your practitioner if anyone else is with you.

Privacy and recording

  • Video consultations use a secure platform and are handled under our Privacy Policy.
  • Consultations are [not recorded / recorded only with your consent. Clinic to confirm.]
  • You must not record the consultation without your practitioner's agreement.

If the connection fails

If the video call drops and cannot be restored, your practitioner will try to call you on the phone number you gave us. If the consultation cannot be completed, we will arrange a new time at no cost.

Your rights

  • You can ask questions at any time, and you can stop the consultation at any time.
  • You can withdraw this consent by telling us. Withdrawing consent may mean we cannot provide our service.
  • Any treatment plan is explained to you and needs your separate consent before it goes ahead.
